ANONYMOUS ââHow beautiful the turning of the year A moment artificial yet profound: Point upon an arbitrary chart Passing like a breath upon the heart, Yearning with anticipation wound, New hope new harboured, in old-fashioned cheer. Even when the boundary line is clear, We recognise the oneness of the ground. Years, like circles, do not end or start Except we lay across their truth our art, Adjusting dates as they go round and round Revolving to a tune long sung and dear.â    Â

I’m sorry, but that’s not all it takes to be a hero. Mr Brown: Great, well, what is a hero to you? Dwight: A hero kills people, people that wish him harm. A hero is part human and part supernatural. A hero is born out of a childhood trauma, or out of a disaster, that must be avenged. Mr Brown: Uh, you’re thinking of a superhero. Dwight: We all have a hero in our heart.â              Â

Hanuman directed all his energies towards the worship of Lord Rama, and his undying devotion made him such that he became free from all physical fatigue. And Hanuman’s only desire was to go on serving Rama… and through Him, serve all.â
ANONYMOUS ââThe collapsing impulse, even though going to a state of no expression â nothingness, Atyantabhavaâ imparts its quality onto the gap. The gap is therefore the silent witness, which sees the previous impulse and the following impulse. It holds in silence the memory of both. The nature of the gap which holds the memory of both, the previous and the following impulses, is called Anyonyabhava. This is what maintains order in creation on the field of the unmanifest Atyantabhava. This is the secret of all transformations on the path of evolution.â     Â

ANTHONY DE MELLO ââI was a neurotic for years. Anxious, depressed, selfish. And everyone kept telling me to change. And I resented them, and agreed with them, and wanted to change, but simply couldn’t, no matter how I tried. What hurt the most was that, like the; others, my closest friend kept urging me to change. So I felt powerless and trapped. One day he said: “Don’t change. I love you as you are.” Those words were music to my ears: “Don’t change. Don’t change. Don’t change… I love you as you are.” I relaxed. I came alive. And, suddenly, I changed! Now I know that I couldn’t really change till I found someone to love me whether I changed or not. Is this how you love me, God?â
ANTHONY DE MELLO ââThere is only one cause of unhappiness: the false beliefs you have in your head, beliefs so widespread, so commonly held that it never occurs to you to question them.â         Â

ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPERY ââLove does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking together in the same direction.â Â
ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPERY ââThere is a cheap literature that speaks to us of the need of escape. It is true that when we travel we are in search of distance. But distance is not to be found. It melts away. And escape has never led anywhere. The moment a man finds that he must play the races, go the Arctic, or make war in order to feel himself alive, that man has begin to spin the strands that bind him to other men and to the world. But what wretched strands! A civilisation that is really strong fills man to the brim, though he never stir. What are we worth when motionless, is the question.â         Â
ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPIRY ââ”It’s a question of discipline”, the little prince told me later on. “When you’ve finished washing and dressing each morning, you must tend your planet”.â  Â

ANTON CHEKOV- âWhen a woman isnât beautiful, people always says, you have lovely eyes. You have lovely hair.â
ANTON NEMILOV ââUp till now the concept of inequality between men and women has been so deeply rooted not only in the lesser educated people but also in the highly educated people as well as in women themselves, that if, on occasion, women are treated as having full equality with men, this is attributed to men’s weakness and impotency If we pursue the thoughts of any scientist, writer, student, businessman… we shall soon realise that he does lot in his heart of hearts regard woman as his equal. If we read any recent novel, however free a thinker the writer might be we shall certainly find something or other in it which will expose as superficial his concept of woman as equal to man.â Â
ANTON PAVLOVITCH TEHEKHOV ââLove, friendship, respect do not unite people as much as a common hatred for something.âÂ
ANTONIN ARTAUD ââAll true language is incomprehensible, like the chatter of a beggars teeth.â       Â

There are very few things which we know, which are not capable of being reduced to a mathematical reasoning; and when they cannot it’s a sign our knowledge of them is very small and confused; and when a mathematical reasoning can be had it’s as great a folly to make use of any other, as to grope for a thing in the dark, when you have a candle standing by you.â           Â

My name is Alexandra Chloe Bishop, but (thank god) no one ever calls me that. They all call me Alex, well everyone except for my mom. She used to call me Alexandra, but now, my mom will never call me anything, ever again. Ok, wait, I am getting way too far ahead of myself. I guess I should tell you a little bit about me fist.
I have red hair the goes just past my shoulders, bright green eyes, and am 5’6. I live in a small town called Garden Valley in the state of Idaho. It is the kind of town where everybody knows everybody. Here is a drawing of lay-out of the land all around Garden Valley.
My birthday is June, 17, 1992, this year I am turning 17. I guess that means that April 18 will be the first anniversary of me being alone. I never really thought about that. Well, anyway, my parents and my sisters are all dead. This is the story of how they died and how I survived after they were gone.
I was fifteen at the time and we were down in Boise on one of our few trips in to the large city. “Thanks so much Dad,” I said. Seeing as Garden Valley was such a small town and only has one restaurant (which has crappy food anyway) it was a big deal for us to go out to eat. We had been down in Boise all day we were super hungry; so dad had taken us out to dinner at Carl’s Jr. “That was really good” I continued.
“You can thank me by getting into the car without being asked” my dad, Phillip, joked. We all laughed at his joke as we loaded in to the car. Almost instantly my sisters were asleep, my parents were deep in conversation about the economy, and I (as usual) was deep in to my book.
We were just at the railways in Horseshoe Bend when I first looked up from my book. My mom had fallen asleep and my dad was listening to NPR (National Public Radio).
“Hey Dad,” I said “are we going to stop at the Chevron for gas?”
“Nope” he replied “we are going straight through today.” He looked back at me and smiled his knowing smile
“You wanted to get some popcorn didn’t you??”
I grinned “Yep, but I’ll live.”
We were just going through the intersection as I said this. At the same moment I finished my sentence I saw a car coming straight at us. I knew we were going to hit the car and there was nothing I -a girl the age of 15 and with no accountable, crazy, magical powers- could do about it.
The next thing I knew was the back of my dad’s seat. There was a terrible pain in my leg, my head felt like it was going to burst and there was a baby crying. I couldn’t move and I was scared. I was straining my ears for any noise other than the baby crying. Then I heard a kind, scared, female voice say “Its ok I called 911 they’re on there way, they asked me to get out the ones of you who answered me. So say something if you hear me.”
“Help me,” I said as loud as I could manage
“Ok at least one of you is still alive. You are one very luck little girl. Bob get down here help me get these kids out of here.” I felt gentle hands grab me and pull my out of the backseat.
“Sorry Jen,” said the man who had helped me out “I can’t get any of the others out.” “That’s ok I hear the cops coming now. Here help me get this one out.” She said her voice coming from the other car.
The scene that I saw, as he walked away, was like from a horror movie. Our car (a blue Subaru Outback) was crushed to the size of a fridge. The other car (a white Subaru Outback) was in the same condition. There was smoke and dust everywhere. They had hit each other at the same moment. I could tell because they had spun so that they were directly head on. It was the most horrific and devastating scene I have ever seen in my entire life. I was stunned; I didn’t know what to do. So, I though what my parents would want me to do if they were out of the car, standing by me, “Common darling,” said the mom in my head “swallow your tears and go ask if you can help”. I saw my dad’s chest slammed on the front windshield of my car. I knew it would be a miracle if any one, other than me, survived. The tears were starting to come now; I took a deep, shaky breath, just like the mom in my head had told me to do. I turned away not able to look anymore.
I looked around to see what Jen and Bob were doing. I saw them pull a boy, who looked about my age, out of the other car. I hobbled over, knowing now that my ankle was broken, and asked if there was anything I could do to help. “Oh no darling, you and this young man go sit on the curb until the police come. You two are very lucky you made it.” Said the kind, old lady, whom I guessed was Jen. They both walk away to see if any one else would answer. I wanted to go help, but boy grabbed my hand when he saw me trying to follow them.
“Are you Ok?” asked the boy.
“I think my ankle is broken but other than that I think I am ok,” I told him “are you?” He answered by putting his arm around my waist and helping me over to the curb. I struggled for a moment, still wanting to go help, but then I gave in. I didn’t have enough energy any

Advice for a Model Train?
03-Sep-10I am building a model train set that requires several buildings. As I am a college student, I cannot afford the commercial versions of these things.
I was watching the behind the scenes footage for LOTR and for their ‘bigatures’ they used some kind of Styrofoam or something to carve and custom make a lot of the buildings. Does anyone know what they used or where I can get some?
Or any kind of material that would help me? I don’t mind carving or anything, in fact I quite like it. I need something that will allow me to basically sandpaper or carve pieces off and the paint.
Any ideas?
This is my HO scale layout based on the TP&W and KB&S in Illinois. It is project statrted by my cousin and I and is still in the making. Note the scrap yard, the metal shavings come from a machine shop that my friend owns. All track is code 83. This is a DC layout. The TP&W GP20’s are custom made from Proto 2000 units, The TP&W lightning stripe 20 was down for servicing at the time of this filming. Hope you enjoy the Illinois Prairie Lines.
